stem-edu.orgProject overview
An educational 8-bit computer built on breadboards to teach students the fundamental concepts of computer architecture and digital logic through hands-on construction and programming.
The computer features LED displays for output, manual switches for input, and a simple instruction set that students can use to write basic programs. The educational materials include visual guides and interactive exercises.
What we did for this project
We created an educational computer system that makes complex computer science concepts tangible and accessible to students through hands-on building and programming experience.
- Circuit design and component selection
- Breadboard layout optimization
- Instruction set architecture design
- Educational curriculum development
- Student guide and tutorial creation
- Workshop delivery and student mentoring
Project results
Successfully taught computer architecture fundamentals to 80+ students with 100% engagement in hands-on activities.
Students demonstrated deep understanding of CPU operations by successfully building and programming their own computers from scratch.
